Admittedly, the birds we saw in Galveston were mostly pelicans and gulls, but we did see -- and photograph -- a lot of them. There were both brown pelicans and white pelicans at Pier 19 -- basking in the sun, preening themselves and hanging around in the hopes of getting a free meal.
