Garden Journal...       Hanging in until Fall 

I took advantage of not having to water for a few days after the rains by cleaning out and trimming back the garden early in the mornings before it got too hot. Most of the cosmos are gone, but it doesn't look bad after I cut the dried foliage away. At least it looks tended now, if not as colorful. Now I've started digging a new iris bed.
