I planted two big pots for
the driveway since it is such a large expanse of concrete. That's
purple fountain grass and three varieties of ornamental sweet potato
vines. The daylilies took right off after planting them. I had teased
the clumps apart and planted each fan separately, so they shouldn't need
to be divided too soon. I'm using primarily perennials, but after
Memorial Day, I did plant the yellow lantanas from our family graves
to help fill in the garden. The hyacinth vine against the brick wall
is really growing well, too. I took some irises up that were in a
low spot so I could add more soil. I planted them in one of the
front beds. Those poor irises has
seen a lot of changes this
year, but I have no doubt that they will survive.
