The blue columbine is the first to bloom. It was a new one last year. The irises are glorious, with many more to come. They are really just beginning. I've never had so many buds. I think they really liked being dug last fall. This one on the left was the first to bloom last year, but is in a less sunny spot and so the big purples beat open this year. It is one of my favorites. The white iris below is a Dutch Iris. They are grown from bulbs instead of rhizomes, like the bearded irises.
