Winters are too long, but just because I can't work in the garden doesn't mean I can't grow flowers.
I bought seven paperwhite bulbs and two amaryllis on sale shortly after the holidays. I planted them all at the same time.
The paperwhites bloomed in January. The amaryllis waited until February -- the pink at the beginning of the month and the red at the end.
