The Josie House |
Before we unpacked, we toured the house, taking pictures in the charming rooms. We would be sleeping in the "Sisters Room." It had two twin beds and a bathroom across the hall. The accommodations would have been perfect if there had been a tub instead of a shower. After our four days in the rustic cabin, the thought of soaking in a tub sounded divine. We would have to wait until we got home for that, however. At our host's suggestion, we ate at the Fish Shack on the highway north of the old section of town where the Josie house stood. They served much more food than a body could eat, but it was delicious and we enjoyed our first meal in a restaurant since our sister trip began. It was also interesting to observe the locals as they dined. It was a different crowd than the city folk we were used to - decidedly less polished, but charming too. Bedtime came early that night. We were both exhausted and it was lovely to crawl into a warm bed after roughing it for a few days. The pillow-top mattress was heaven compared to the futon in the cabin. Next Page |
