We were up at dawn on Tuesday, excited that after twenty-four hours of rain, it had finally stopped. It didn't even matter that it was cold and windy. After a quick breakfast, we dressed in multiple layers and walked to the park's visitor center to get a map of Greenleaf and ask a question or two. By the time we got to the trailhead, we had already had a decent hike. The trail meandered through the woods not far from the lakeshore. We pressed on even through the muddy spots. Nothing was going to stop us after a day of being cooped up in the cabin.
