Outside Josie House |
From the lake area, it took less than an hour to drive to the Josie House, our Bed and Breakfast in the little town of Coweta. When we arrived, there was no one there to let us in, so we called our host and left a couple of messages, then walked around the interesting yard. We could tell that at one time the garden had been someone's pride and joy, but it was a bit overgrown now. After twenty minutes of exploring the grounds, our host arrived and let us in. We learned that the wonderful two-story Victorian house had belonged to one owner for over thirty years before it was sold and turned into a Bed and Breakfast Inn only last year. The new owners were not gardeners, and didn't really know how -- or have time -- to tend the garden as lovingly as it deserved. They were nice people, however, and we enjoyed getting to know them during our brief stay. We had the entire house to ourselves, as they lived elsewhere and we were the only guests the two nights we were there. Next Page |
