"Kindly Light" (Bechtold 1949) Lemon yellow self. Dormant. Diploid. 1st Harris Olson Spider Award winner in 1989. This striking spider has 7" blooms, 28" tall, and blooms mid-season. It is the quintessential example of a "classic" spider (defined as having petals 5 times as long as they are wide.) In my garden it begins in early June and continues to bloom for a month. |
