"Hemerocallis fulva" is a species daylily native to Europe -- 4 foot or taller. It was introduced into the United States in the late 19th century as an ornamental. It escaped into natural and disturbed areas throughout the United States. I have two distinct varieties of this species. The one that I designate as "Early" blooms from early June until mid August. The late variety, which begins to bloom when this one is almost finished, can be found HERE. |
