"Ed Murray" Diploid (Grovatt '70) Height: 30" -- 4" dramatic velvety red-black petals with a bright yellowish-green throat; one of the very best in this color category. Color is entirely sunfast. Midribs are yellow in the throat area, blending into the deep red petals midway. Loosely ruffled petals; smooth, recurved sepals. Blooms in mid to late summer. Extended bloom--flowers last at least 16 hrs. each. Stout Silver Medal 1981, Lenington All-American Award 1983. It begins blooming in mid June for me and continues through the entire month of July. I love this great daylily.
