This nearly deserted beach is on the Delaware Bay before it spills into the Atlantic Ocean.
I love these sand fences found at many beaches. I am sure there is
a practical reason they are there -- probably to help prevent erosion. I know that is
always a problem along the shoreline because of the inevitable storms. I like sand fences because of the way they dip and lean and for the wonderful shadows they cast on the sand.
A fisherman and a family of
swimmers were the only people besides Chris and me on this rocky beach.
There was a world of difference in the feeling at the beaches filled with
people and these where the only sounds were the rhythm of the waves and an occasional cry from a sea gull overhead.
