After a rest stop and coffee at Valle, we arrived at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and parked at the Information Plaza. The staff there said there was a relatively short trail behind the Plaza. We were anxious to see the canyon and ready to stretch our legs, so we grabbed our cameras and followed the path behind the building to the rim.

I thought I was prepared for that first sight of the canyon, but it took my breath away.
