We had just one day and night left of our vacation -- and miles to drive to get back to Phoenix, where we would catch our return flight to Oklahoma. We were up early again to a beautiful sunrise with rocky monuments silhouetted against the eastern sky. We had nothing planned but travel and plenty of time to make the trip so it would be a day of serendipity.
